Old Harry Rocks #2

This is my second painting in my series of works from sketches made in Dorset and Cornwall over the past few months. It was an early calm morning when the sky/sea horizon was barely discernible. The coastal path between Swanage and Studland bay is beautiful; quite an undertaking but you can reward yourself with a smashing lunch at the new Pig on the Beach at the end!

I have used Michael Harding paints on a linen canvas as usual. Colour-wise along with a lot of Titanium White 2,  I have used mostly Kings Blue Deep, Ultramarine and the tiniest amount of Phthalocynine Blue Lake which a fantastic colour but it goes a long way. The paint is fairly thick and I have used linseed oil as a medium in the top layer of paint.
