Ravilious is ravishing at the Dulwich Picture Gallery

This exhibition is delightful. At first glance Ravilious’s watercolours look like simple designs in a very 1940’s style. Then you look closer and realise how well constructed they are and they look like they were ‘meant to be’. Overwhelmingly you get the feeling that Ravilious was kind, generous and straight-forward.  You don’t often get such sentiments from looking at an artist’s work. Worth seeing.

On at the Dulwich Picture Gallery until 31st August.
