I love long walks that encompass city and countryside. Most weekends we walk through Wimbledon Park, take in the lovely shops in the village and up onto the Common which is still surprisingly easy to get lost in. I usually take my sketch book and watercolours rather than my oils and then work back in the studio on the final pieces. Colour is my real motivation, and I work with three palettes to make sure I keep all colours separate. I only use Michael Harding paints as they are the best and I only paint on linen as I find it a beautiful texture to work on. To discuss any paintings katharine@katharinerowe.com.
