The Sun Smokes up all the Water

This was painted after visiting the mangroves near Quepos in Costa Rica. The light is completely different to what we experience in the UK, especially in an area like this completely full of water.  I made sketches whilst on the boat, took photos and then worked up the painting once back in the studio.

The painting is framed in a bespoke, ‘sunken’ frame and is ready to hang.
